Green Architecture

Thomas Caldwell, Architect has always given special attention to green building. Over the years we have been involved in numerous projects that addressed issues of resource efficient sustainable design and eco-friendly construction in various manners.

One of the ways in which we can assist our clients with green design is by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a registered trademark of the USGBC (United States Green Building Council). We are proud that our Knoxville Housing Partnership infill housing designs were the first projects in the state of Tennessee to earn LEED Gold Certification for New Residential Construction. Our KHP Park City residences also received the Knoxville-Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission's 2009 Excellence Award for Environmental Sustainability and the TAPA 2009 Outstanding Planning Award for Green Development from the Tennessee Chapter of the American Planning Associtaion.

Through LEED Certification for your building you may:

  • Help protect the natural environment through reduced impact
  • Provide healthy indoor environment for generations of users
  • Reduce long-term building operation costs through resource efficient materials selection and energy conservation
  • Achieve Public Recognition as an environmentally responsible organization/company
